Core Christian Values
Courage is a core value for our church school because Christians are called by God to be courageous, to stand up for what is right, just as Jesus did.
In the Bible, Jesus shows courage throughout his life and ultimately at his crucifixion when he gave his life for us.
In our school, children need courage to stick to a task even when it is difficult and to stand up for what is right, following the example of Jesus.
Love is a core value for our church school because love is at the heart of the Christian faith.
In The Bible, in John’s Gospel, Jesus tells us to love each other as he loves us.
In our school, we carry the value of love in our hearts, thinking about everybody and loving each other as we want to be loved.
Respect is a core value for our church school because respect encompasses reverence and the Christian faith is based on a belief in the Holy Spirit’s presence within the world and within our relationships with each other.
In the Bible, in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus said to treat others as you want them to treat you, respect yourself and look after the world we live in.
In our school, we respect (revere) ourselves, one another and the world we live in.
