Children with Special Educational Needs
Froxfield School is committed to helping every child realise his or her potential. Staff take great care to watch for early signs of children experiencing difficulties, as early diagnosis and additional help can often solve a problem before it becomes too great. One in five children will experience problems with learning at some stage, to a greater or lesser degree. Most of these problems are overcome within the classroom setting although some children may benefit from a personalised learning program which may be delivered outside of the classroom. We will regularly keep you informed of progress and will consult you if support is being considered, such as the provision of an individual program or advice or assessment for an outside agency such as speech therapy. It is also possible to bring in the County’s Educational Psychology Service if the child’s learning difficulties cannot be met within the school’s own resources. This service is able to offer support and advice and can also assess children when necessary.
The SENCO for Froxfield C of E Primary School is Mrs Jennie Asser. Contact her through the school office on 01730 827251. She will get back to you at the earliest opportunity.
